TCELS partners with N Health to develop medical products and services

The Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS) under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with N Health, a prominent healthcare service provider to jointly promote and support research on science and biotechnology with the aim of developing commercial value and driving forward the medical supply and service industry. It will also play a role in pushing Thailand into the 4.0 era.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Narongrit Kalaphut, Chief Executive Officer of N Health and Dr. Nares Damrongchai, CEO of TCELS on 28 November 2019 at Movenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok.
Mr. Narongrit explained that the partnership was aimed at promoting and supporting research on science and biotechnology produced by Thai scientists and professionals to develop these into commercial products. N Health has readiness in terms of personnel, technology and strategic partners in the medical and hospital sector to help create commercial value for the medical industry both domestically and regionally.

“N Health is also interested in developing innovations and precision-medicine services, which is a fast-emerging science. It has been proved that precision medicine can diagnose and treat difficult diseases precisely. An in-depth study of the genes of the patients is undertaken to enhance the efficiency of treatments and reduce redundancy, enabling the patients to recover faster,” said Mr. Narongrit.

Dr. Nares added that in addition to supporting commercial products, both parties also placed importance on personnel development in the medical industry. The joint effort aimed to reinforce continued development and supply products and services that meet the needs of the healthcare industry in Thailand. It would also create opportunities for the development of projects through collaboration between the public, private and education sectors and civil society which would move Thailand forward to the 4.0 era," concluded Dr. Nares.
